USFS Changes Shooting Policy

That's good to hear. Lets hope the word gets out to those who need to be reminded. On a side note, the Rangers at Bee Canyon never had an issue with shooters setting up and shooting along the truck trail, which is heavily occupied by dirt bikers. They know where to ride and we know where to shoot. We always get along just fine and no one gets hurt.sigpic
Then, Sir, we will give them the bayonet! (Stonewall Jackson's reply to Colonel B.E. Bee when he reported that the enemy were beating them back. At the first battle of Bull Run, July 1861)

Well that's good news! I've never had a problem with shooting near trails, but at least I don't have to worry about it now! haha

Thank you for the memo. It will go with the rest of my papers you have to carry to protect yourself from the Kalifornia power freaks.Just thought I'd update this as the question has come up to me again.

You wouldn't happen to have the memo allowing the use of AW's on USFS lands too? It was put out by the Eldorado NF a while ago I think.Comment

A further update. I was able to get the Cleveland National Forest to change the improper wording on their website regarding shooting within 150 yards of a road.
This doesn't mean that they won't hassle you; 'cuz most of them are anti; but we have the memo to back it up.
Also, I should point out that in the CNF are very few (if any) places where you can shoot, plink etc other than hunting.Comment
