Mail PPT papers? Store forgot to have something signed.

I'm an hour away from a store I did a PPT about two weeks ago when I picked up my gun.

Just got a call today asking me to come in that they forgot to have me sign something.

Any chance they can mail me the documents? I'll call them tomorrow. I just really didnt want to drive all the way back just to sign something.

You have picked up the gun already? Sounds like its their fault, have them drive the papers to you. If the DROS is closed and done...they are just covering their butts with the paperwork they are required to keep. I don't believe you are under any obligation to fix their mistakes.

Or ask them to cover your gas cost with a couple of boxes of ammo. You would be doing them a favor.

They are covering their butts, but they can't really make you do anything.

They can certainly fax the papers and you can fax them back and they'll keep those with the paperwork. If you're feeling like being a real dbag, you can tell them to to pound sand.

Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.

You have all of the power in this situation. Ask them to either mail you the originals and you swear on your good honor you will mail them back in the provided envelope with their postage on it or tell them your time is worth something and what is it worth to them for you to drive back to them. Better yet, tell them what it is worth for you to drive back to them.

Don't be a douche, but certainly it will be you doing them a favor and if they get snooty or threaten you with legal action or some such nonsense, they have no position and tell them good luck with their audit. You will go ahead and call the DOJ and ATF and tell them your name so they can find the paperwork much easier when they come in.

Again, be nice unless they for some reason forget who is in charge. You the customer.

This happened to me at Pasadena Turners about 5 years ago. I got a phone call a few months after I picked up the PPT gun. I did go back and sign the paperwork, and I also ended up getting a Surefire flashlight and 400 rds of Federal 45ACP ammo for my trouble.

Also remember that you may want to do another PPT there again someday...

I have run into the same scene, and I DID have them mail the papers to me, sign and return them.. It also was just a paperwork deal.. Call em and tell them how far away you are....

An hour would be considered fast on a weekday morning.
