    Are cannon legal?

What are the current laws covering operational cannon? Is my residency the determining factor in such a purchase regardless of where its used?

What type of cannon? What era?
    Breech loading or Muzzle loading?
    What state ?
For reenacting with blanks or live fire?

We need a few more details.

Yes your residency of this state will play a major role in what you can have.

        Recently discussed in this thread.
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

not completely sure, but i know some guy had a cannon at lytle creek last time i went. And that range takes no chance with illegal activity so i can only assume it's legal in california.

I have a friend who had his cannon used on Myth Busters. Civil War reproduction type. All Calif legal.

Im a California resident, since it was asked.

I dont know the different types of cannon, im learning.

And yes, I want a cannon firing a real ball.

Is there anyone here very knowledgeable about cannon in general?
