    Family Transfer Outside CA

Currently in Vegas visiting step-son and his wife who have new baby.

Had a great day at local gun stores yesterday. Good prices on P-Mags for NV use of course We are going to the shooting park later to shoot some of his stuff and my Garand and DDM4 and some pistols I brought.

We were discussing legalities on if he could purchase let's say an AK, then do a family transfer and off I go with the weapon. Or if it has to be blood relative, he could give it to his mom?

Appreciate if anyone knows the law on this.

    Thanks

What you're talking about is an interstate transfer. There are no exemptions in Federal law for family in interstate transfers. Except for a very few specific and narrow exemptions, interstate transfers MUST use an FFL. California law requires the FFL to be located IN CA.

Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.
