    re-watching obama 2008 videos

So I'll admit that in 2008 I had recently graduated from college and I voted for Obama, I decided that I'd go re-watch some of his campaign video's.

preaching to the choir here, I know, but I find it amusing.

When questioned "you support the DC handgun ban", he said "yes".

But then he says "I believe in the 2nd amendment and the right to bear arms"

Then follows with the "states and local governments can set their own regulations, similar to zoning laws regarding personal property"

And that "the culture of gun ownership and going hunting with your father, is very important to a lot of people, yes I support the 2nd amendment".

He follows up his argument saying they need to reduce crime, get crime guns and straw purchasers of the streets.

How the HELL do you connect reducing crime and getting rid of straw purchasers, to the DC handgun ban? The only people it banned the use of guns for were the law abiding citizens he keeps saying "will agree with me because they are common sense gun laws and I support the 2nd amendment".

You cannot pick and choose the opportunities, time and places that firearms are ok to use and say that its your support of the 2nd amendment.

By Obama's logic supporting the 2nd amendment may mean that "during hunting season, in a pre-defined hunting area, with only stuffed target animals, you may use a bolt action rifle of caliber no larger 7mm."
just happy to be here. I like talking about better ways to protect ourselves.

Somewhere there are videos from his early campaign speeches in Illinois -

Same double talk hopey changey yes we can empty rhetoric.

    It's not your fault.

A lot of people fell for the same crap.

At least you have the balls to admit your mistake...

yeah i do admit it...at least I wanted to vote for Ron Paul even back in 2008 so I was doing a little bit of thinking.

Firearms were not even an issue for me, I remember an ex girlfriend saying her dad was worried about Obama "taking his guns" and I just dismissed it as redneck-hogwash.

I was more interested in his (lies) statements that he would bring the troops home, and couldn't stand Sarah Palin (didn't have any probs with McCain).

Now I see his taking out Bin Laden as more of a political move than anything. It will come across nice in a debate on foreign policy. "well, lets see, I got bin laden"..."you can see russia".

Well now you've learned your lesson. Don't treat a presidential election as a highschool popularity contest, and don't vote for the people outright lying to your face. Doesn't matter if you can't stand Palin, hell the primary reason people don't like her is because of her honesty and not reading everything prepared in advance from a teleprompter(meaning she's closer to a "normal" American than the average lying politician), but instead people chose the liar.

It is funny though, running into more and more people every day just now realizing that most of everything Obama said in his campaign was nonsense that he never intended to follow through with.

        Fix unemployment? Nope, gotten worse.
Bring troops home? Nope, sending them to more locations.
Lower healthcare costs? Nope, they're going through the roof.
Fix the economy? Nope, it's still like a turd circling the bowl before it eventually goes down.
        Close gitmo? LOL.
Win nobel peace prize for doing nothing? Check.
Increase spending to insane levels? Check.
Invite the man to dinner who is holding the 2010 nobel peace prize winner captive? Check.

I don't even have to bring up the religious issues, foreign policy speeches, vacations, etc. It's not even just about 2a with this guy, it was people seeing the "cool" candidate and blindly voting like you yourself did. Want to make a difference? Explain what "hope and change" has accomplished to any friends of yours that voted for this guy and educate them(just don't forget the one last excuse those people usually have, is still blaming Bush even though Obama has been president for over 2 years now. The guy still can't man up and accept any responsibility for his lack of action regarding just about everything).

You voted for him? BAN!!!! Kidding, my brother in law admitted to me that he voted for him too, got caught up in the brainwashing and the hope and change. He's ashamed, but thought things could change for the better. I can't fault him, but I can give him crap for it!

McCain is what is wrong with the GOP. He is not a conservative. He is a liberal. A RINO (Republican In Name Only). He wasn't even on my long list during the primary.

In 2008, Palin had 8 years of executive experience (mayor/governor) and Obama had zero. Palin had 2 years of energy experience and Obama had zero. Palin had nearly 20 years private business experience and Obama had zero. Palin is pro 2nd Amendment and Obama is not. Palin was more experienced than Obama in 2008 and she was on the bottom of the ticket and Obama was on the top of the ticket.

Know your candidates and know your facts before pulling the lever.

Man Obama cracks me up...remember "Sportsmen, I don't want your guns"...

since when did Sportsmen's guns matter? Its all our guns! the whole "sporting purpose" BULL completely usurps the 2A's intention's, and they aren't sport!

I really dont think Obama's that bad. As long as i've been alive it's been the same old bull****, different person to blame it on.

Give him a break, im sure you'd all do so much better right?

Take into consideration i am not even mildly involved in politics and am not a democrat nor a republican.

They live for the opportunity to be called to duty to protect the innocent. The sheepdog has fangs and the propensity for violence but hopes that he will not have to resort to it. However, he lives for that day when he will be able to use his warrior skills and mindset to keep the wolf from harming the sheep."

What exactly did they say Obama got the peace prize for anyway? I mean they cant seriously have just given it to him and said,"congratulations for being awesome!" maybe it was for being a wuss and not deciding not to put nukes in Poland. Oh but if they had it would have been like Russia's own personal Cuban missile crisis.

The Nobel Peace Prize 2009 was awarded to Barack H. Obama "for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples"

Keep in mind that the nomination deadline was Feb. 1 2009, meaning that he got nominated for the thing having only been in office 12 days(or less) before being nominated for his "extraordinary efforts". So yes, they literally gave it to him for doing absolutely nothing(seriously, political issues aside, what president has ever done anything within 12 days of taking office that would be worthy of any type of distinction? Heck, even Harrison was in office for a month before he was known for anything.
