    Chico gun ranges?

I will be moving to Chico for school in a year, and was wondering if there are any good outdoor ranges in Chico or in the area?
    Thanks in advance!

There is a indoor range some where in town not sure of the name, and there is a unmaned range in Oroville at the clay pits gest past the airport. There may be more that I don't know of.

Safer Arms, indoor range Pistol and Rifles firing pistol cartridges only. I have seen a shotgun once.. dubious about allowances. Airflow and lighting are not the greatest but its cheap and the dudes out front are not too bad. Range is 50ft. They do a ton of business, couples on Tues.

Chico Rod and Gun Club, out in Upper Bidwell park. Sorta outdoor (open roof over range part covered else wise. No rifles.

The Claypits near Oroville airport, BLM, just about anything goes. GETS BUSY, very BUSY with plenty of idiots during weekends. Though I have not made it to one we Butters do a monthly Monday thing there.

There are a few hidden spots up in the hills that are used as well.
...but their exists also in the human heart a depraved taste for equality, which impels the weak to attempt to lower the powerful to their own level, and reduces men to prefer equality in slavery to inequality with freedom.

Sounds like the claypits are my best bet since all I have is rifles and a shotgun. Thanks!

If you are on HW 70 heading South into Oroville exit Oroville Dam BLVD, take a right on Oroville Dam BLVD, take a left on Larkin rd, then a left onto Rabe rd. The range is down off to the left at the end of the road. No you don't need a 4x4 I have seen many rice burners at the range. Be careful you can meet some really great guys out there, but there are others that I chose to pack up and leave when they show up.

Thanks for the info and directions! I might scare off those rice burners with my straight piped mustang!

98, this thread just inspired me to start another one in off topic.
