So we get all kinds of ammo just dumped at the store. None of it can be resold. A lot of it gets torn apart and the cases are salvaged. But a lot is just random old factory stuff that we pile up and then we shoot it once there is a good sized pile.
So yesterday we shot a bunch of .22LR, .32ACP, .380ACP, 9MM, .40S&W, .45ACP/LC, .30-06, .30 Carbine, 7.62x39. I had more than an ammo can full of brass to sort out when we were done.
I really am not a .32ACP fan and i guess other people are not either since I get so much dumped at the shop. :-) I don't own a .32ACP but my friend brought over a FN 1922, Nazi marked, 1939 production that we used to burn the .32ACP up. ~300 random carp rounds and not a single malfunction of any kind. Good little gun, accurate, I may get one in .380ACP.
There was a ton of .30-06 on en-bloc clips and I have a Garand with a totally rusted out, pitted barrel that was begging to be abused, so we did. We got it hot enough to scorch the wood
. The wood was smoking for like 5 minutes after the last shot. It also functioned perfectly. And .30-06 freaking shreds bowling pins.
We had a 1967 W. German PPK, 1932 (I think) Beretta and Remington Model 51 in .380ACP. The Model 51 was by far the most fun to shoot, least recoil, most accurate. That PPK just punishes you for pulling the trigger compared to the little Model 51. The Beretta was okay, no biggie.
There were 1911's, Hi-Powers, XD's & M&P's to burn the 9MM, 40S&W and .45ACP.
Fun day . . .
