I returned my brand new Leupold scope a few weeks after I got it because the turrets stopped making any click noise/feel when they were turned. I received it about three weeks ago after they claimed to have rebuilt both turrets (it still did not feel like the one the gun shop had on display).
I could not figure out why I was not able to get the scope to zero, but this was my second time zeroing a scope so I figured it was something I was doing wrong. After shooting three boxs of Federal Match .308 it was obvious there was something wrong with the scope or the mount (M1A). I tried adjusting both turrets and they had completely failed, they were just turning in place and they were loose by about 1 millimeter! Before you call me an idiot for shooting so much I did reach out (about 1.5 boxes into this ordeal) to another M1A owner that had the same setup as me and I asked for help. He basically said he was having a tough time zeroing in his scope as well so I figured it must not be as easy as I had thought so I continued to shoot.
I am really disappointed, it cost me 20 bucks to return the scope the first time and 75 bucks in ammo and the range fees.
Do you think it’s reasonable to request a brand new replacement instead of another repair?
