I took the Wife to PBS today after dinner her first time. I needed some powder so we went up to the gun counter and I asked for Winchester 231 I got that Deer in the head lights look??? Ah Winchester 231? what brand is that?? oh boy this is going to take awhile. 3 people later and they still needed me to look in the locked room for it myself? I hope they get some real gun folk soon..

Too bad. nearly the same thing happened to me this week at Sportsman's Whorehouse in Roseville. It took me ten minutes to explain that I wanted a "keg" of H50BMG. Three minutes to explain that it was powder and seven minutes to convince the kid that I needed an 8lb "keg". The word "keg" is used on their price sheets but he still thought that I could never want that much.NRA Certified Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun and Metallic Cartridge Reloading Instructor

Here's another alternative for primers and powder in San Bernardino. There's a place called Berman's. They sell powder, primers and firearms. Their powder and primes are cheaper than BPS(I think) and Turner's. The place looks like a farm. Mark

No way. IMO, those guys "scam" unknowing customers. They told me and buddy that they were Stoeger distributers and gave a 5 minute spew on how he couldn't give a price over the phone because he would have other dealers complain and wouldn't buy guns from him again. When we drove 40 mins to get there, he quoted us retail price. What a rip.
While I was there, the old guys sold a newbie a gun lock for $18 (and its was similar to the free kind from project childsafe) and told the customer that he wasn't making a dime on the lock.
I'll never go back there.Comment
