Buckets of old ammo!

Hey guys, I could use some opinions on what to do with a whole bunch of old ammo. This all came out of my great uncle's shop, he passed away last year, and his daughter gave me some of his stuff. There is a myriad of different calibers in here, and no guns to go with. The guns are all gone, long story.

Some of this stuff is pretty cool, and may have value, but it's way before my time. Before I try and catalog anything, should I look for anything in particular? There's a lot of stuff, and no organization, that bucket on the floor is just full of loose rounds:

A lot of those boxes are worth money to cartridge box collectors. Try gunbroker. They're probably worth even more if they are full of ammo.

Some of those boxes have definite collectors value based on age and condition alone. Ammo inside is just topping on the cake

Maybe keep a select few for yourself if it interests you, you can make a pretty penny off the rest.

Thanks a lot for all the input! It's really helpful, I think I'll take some time this weekend to really dig into it.

Some of the boxes are full, some with the correct ammo, some not.

That scope may be a ZF41, and if it is, I'm stoked. A Mauser is high on my list of guns to own, and this would be the icing on the cake, big time!

If they aren't flares, I think I see some 8ga shotshells in there, which can be pretty rare these days.

Looking at your photo I think I can see "ZF41" in white, upside down on the barrel between the rings.

Looks like a great score!
