Guns become rotten after 10 days and are unable to hurt anyone. Don't you know?

The law designed due to the mass office shootings they were having in the 80s early 90s when people got mad at work went out and bought a gun came back and solved their "problem" with shots fired. Remember the term going postal? There is a reason that term got coined. Lots of mail people went out and came back witha AK to the post office and started mowing down people.
Unfortunately unless you get some sort of card that says you own guns already i cant see how a gun store can make that distinction between a new buyer or a guy that already has guns unless they get some sort of OK from DOJ and I am sure that can be easily done considering how easy it is to find info on someone. How much info are you willing to have some counter jockey glean from your background?. I don't much care for it but I doubt we can get it voted out. Lots of californians could probably really care less if you have to wait 10 days to get your gun. At least you CAN get a gun after 10 days. Either way it sucks and unless you can get a lot of people to put it in the ballot its not gonna get erased.

I would think it couldn't be that hard - like an addendum to your HSC card which has its own number.

While I dislike the ten day wait period (And suffer during the wait due to anticipation), what I do like about it is that when that tenth day rolls around, heh -- it's sure to make a bad day into a good one.

I feel the pain! I have a striped AR lower sitting on their 10 hiatus. What kind of harm would I be able to cause with a chunks of metal.

Couldn't it also be just as easy to set up a go/no go DOJ database the gun shop could check
I am not disagreeing with you. But how much information do you want some counter guy to have on his computer about you. IMO the less the better. What i think should be done is simply drop the 10 day wait to maybe 5 days?. From what I understand back ground checks are pretty much instantaneous and if you already have guns it should show you have guns and you should be able to bypass the wait period. i mean you ALREADY have a gun. But I am not a politician nor do I make policy. I don't think it makes a damn bit of difference but obviously somoene convinced the politicians and voting public it does

I don't want the guy at the counter to know a lot about me, but they know I have bought several guns from them and thousands of rounds of ammo and other products.

The 10 day wait makes no sense but the 1 gun in 30 days makes less sense. Not sure what crime they think they are stopping.

Thing is, FFLs don't seem to hate the 10 day law. It gets you in the store twice. I have a tendency to buy things when I go into gun stores. It's a total sickness...

This prevents any premature akimbo action.

What about those of us blessed with CCWs. Obviously I'm clean, if I'm allowed to carry.

I know the *****'n is really mute, it's just been awhile since I purchased a firearm through a gun shop.

If I was going to commit a crime with a handgun, I would just use one I already owned in the 70's. Not go buy a new one for the special occasion.

I'm sure the DOJ has a database of those not allowed to, or already own a firearm and just refer to that upon a new purchase. There should be an excemption to the cooling off period if said person already owns a firearm and has not commited any crimes. We have the technology available. This law is unfair and boarderline unconstitutional. Restricting honest citizens from our right to bear arms. If someone needs to purchase a firearm for self defence, They have to wait 10 days and by then it could be too late. "It's time for change..."
                            End of rant. Maybe...
Take 10 days off to cool down from your rant.

call your state Senator and your assemblyman and tell HIM or HER!! and let him know and everyone you know that if he/she doesn't agree with you that you will vote him/her out of office. Then tell EVERYONE you know that he/she doesn't support gun-rights so they too can vote them OUT!!

No, that's their justification. It's not a reason, because it doesn't help with that sort of thing.
