    10 day wait,AGAIN?

What's the deal with this stupid cooling off period anyways. And how many crimes were actually committed with a recently purchased gun?

I already own multiple handguns and rifles. Undergone the questionaire 10 or 12 times buying and selling. Why the F do I have to cool off 10 days again? If I was going to commit a crime with a handgun, I would just use one I already owned in the 70's. Not go buy a new one for the special occasion.

I'm sure the DOJ has a database of those not allowed to, or already own a firearm and just refer to that upon a new purchase. There should be an excemption to the cooling off period if said person already owns a firearm and has not commited any crimes. We have the technology available. This law is unfair and boarderline unconstitutional. Restricting honest citizens from our right to bear arms. If someone needs to purchase a firearm for self defence, They have to wait 10 days and by then it could be too late. "It's time for change..."
    End of rant. Maybe...

repubconserv hit it right on the head. They don't make sense. These regs are in place to satisfy the anti-gun left. Simple as that.

I especially have a problem with a 10 day wait for current owners. Yeah, you may have some life circumstance or event that may disqualify you for a new firearm, but you could always do something stupid with the ones you already own right? Yeah, I thought you'd agree.

Well, this is just an example of trying to make sense out of it. It doesnt. Carry on.

any law that slows the wheels down... is considered a victory by those that would take your rights. if they could get an 11 day wait, or 12, or....

It's insane. I already have several guns (more than Jerry Brown's arsenal), and still, I have to wait ten days to get a new one.

At least there's some good news out there tonight - Obama and our Intelligence forces got Bin Ladin.
Making guns illegal is as stupid as making drugs or prostitution illegal.

What about waiting 10 days and having to buy a lock (if you don't own a safe) for buying a stripped lower.

at least you didn't get a call on the 8th day saying you had to re-DROS again at a later time because you purchased 2 guns in a 30 day period. now i have to wait another 10 days. here's my vid incase you missed it

I feel your pain. You are preaching to the choir here, though. I DROSd a Ruger LCR on Saturday from Bass Pro in Rancho. It will be my first wheel gun and I can't wait to get my hands on it but I have to wait on the back of the bus like everyone else.

                      Sucks to live in CA.

I agree that there should be some sort of waiver of the 10 day wait for current owners - kinda like the idea that a range will let you rent one of their guns no problem if you come in with one of yours.

For my last purchase the FFL was over an hour from me and a real PIA to get to, twice, especially with traffic. For my current purchase the FFL is much closer but as he's a part time FFL it's become just as difficult getting schedules in sync to get the DROS started and now to go pick up the gun.

In Wisconsin they can check you out over the phone while you are waiting.

They could do it in Cal. too BUT They don't want you to buy a gun so they make it as inconvienent and hard as possible just to mess with you for wanting to do something they don't want you to do.

This is the logic involved - We don't like guns so lets make laws that fxxx with people who do.

Thats why the dros form is so wierd too.

When I was taking my Nevada CCW class last week, my instructor said Nevada residents have a 3 day cooling off period, but that's only for your first gun. Apparently they don't need to have a cool off period when they already own weapons.

That's the way it should be in California, but we have more important issues on our priority list for now.
