    noob question

Hey guys hopefully someone can help me out here, it would be much appreciated. My girlfriends mother passed away about 2 years ago and in going through her stuff we discoverd that she had an old cheap .22 revolver ( forgot the make). The gun is in Texas and we live in Ventura county. The gf is going back to Texas next week and would like to either bring it back or send it back over here. How do we go about this as far a shipping / transporting and papwork goes?
    Thanks

    1) She can bring it back; it was, apparently, an inheritance. BATF and CA both say inheritance is exempt from FFL transfer, even interstate.

    2) Bring it back UNLOADED, in a locked case. One can fly it that way, or drive with it; TX to CA doesn't pass through any problem states; TX to, say, Maine, and I'd recommend a bit more formality, like keep it in the trunk.

    3) I recommend she files the OPLAW form for the revolver.
