Airgun defect?

Hi guys... I had a quick question about a pellet gun I recently purchased (sorry if this is the wrong section of the forum for pellet guns). Anyways, I bought a Crosman Phantom .177 about a week ago, and I recently noticed a bent lever that guides the break barrel action for the gun. I have basically no background with break barrel airguns so I'm not sure if this is a defect and I should return it or if this is normal?!?

Can someone who has owned or handled this airgun please give me some insight/advise on whether this is how they are manufactured or not?

You can call them to see if this is a covered defect. You can't expect $500 quality on a $50 rifle. Look to professional grade air guns for that level of quailty and construction.

On the lower bar, you can see a bumper on the left side that is supposed to guide the bars during cocking.
It kinda looks like maybe this is not properly located or fitted?

My experience is with Winchester and Gamo, these both use the bumpers as guides, but these other guns keep the bars straight.

Was your gun made in Turkey?
If so, they are at the lower end of quality and construction.
They can be tuned up and fixed up a lot if you are willing to put the time into them.

I have seen the bars not being perfectly aligned with the airgun work just fine. It may be fine but a call can't hurt but it may be more hassle then it's worth if it works ok.

Yea it seems to be shooting fine, but I sent Crosman an email just to figure out whats up with it. Never again will I buy a peace of crap Chinese airgun.

I will disagree with you here. Its not crap, its just what it is. Its good quality for what it cost. That airgun will work fine made that way. If you paid $200 for it, then I would agree its crap.
