    body armor

What have you guys found to be good body armor for reasonable price? I've been looking at some on Galls..trying to decide on IIA or IIIA. I am not looking at rifle protection but that would be nice if its able to hold ballistic plates of a reasonable size also. Below is one i'm considering. Has anyone gotten anything on bulletproofme.com, or should I stick with Galls or some other store. Thanks!

This is mostly for HD and range/training use.

I have ordered from bulletproofme several times with no issues. I have also picked up a few vests from http://www.easi-corp.com/ and am 100% happy with there products.

I'd say go for a concealable vest first (IIIa is the maximum protection rating for soft armor), then, if you feel like you have use for it, go for a tactical rig/plate carrier that can hold SAPI plates of Lvl III or IV protection rating.

You might want to look at the new style of deployable soft shields. They offer excellent protection at a very reasonable cost. These are rated at IIIa and fold up to the size of a small briefcase. And they are available to civilians.

I'm with this guy. Check out US Palm's Defender body armor:

$199.95 for Level IIIA protection. It comes with 1 soft armor insert for the front panel. You can buy another insert for the back panel for an additional $99.95. I'm thinking of getting one in the pistol set-up.
