    Gun Store, North Bay.

Anyone have a favorite dealer they care to recommend that's worth going to? Good people/decent (for Cali) prices? Sonoma and Marin counties seem not to be doing too well. I just visited the new Marin Firearms and well, the people there were weird if not slightly rude, and the prices didn't warm me up too much.

I have been meaning to visit a store in Pacifica I think I have read about here. Any info on that?

The traffic getting in and out of the south bay is a bit too much for casual visits. I would go for a specific item or deal. But a mission in hours of round trip traffic of 580/880 is not appealing for visiting...

Take a Saturday and head over to the Sac area. There are plenty of shops through which to take a measly gander. I recommend, and yes- in this order, River City Gun Exchange (Sac), Sportsman's Warehouse (Rocklin), and Wild Sports (Orangevale). There are plenty of others. But again, your main concern is good people/decent prices.

City Arms in Pacifica is a great store; excellent stock of hand guns and a pretty good selection of rifles and shotguns. Also probably the best selection of medium and high end knives in the Bay Area.

Run by Dimity and Vladimir; two of the nicest guys in the business.

I have a perfect Burning Man attendance record: zero.

You do know there are more guns in the country than there are in the city.

If you're in Marin county, you should check out BullsEye.

There are at least 2 gunshops in Petaluma, but I don't know anything about them. Probably in the phone book.

In Santa Rosa there's only Helm's House of Guns left.

Petaluma has a couple. Petaluma Reloading and Sportsman's Access Too. Neither have great prices but both have great service.

I was just over at Bullseye in Marin this weekend. I hadn't been up there in a few months, and they have completely re-done the store area -- it is now about 3-4 times bigger with a huge selection of new guns, especially if you like new Smith & Wesson (I think they had every current production revovler on display) or 1911s. Their used gun selection was a little small, and their lane prices are among the highest, but still worth a stop-in if you are passing by.
