    Turners selling AR pistols

Could not believe my eyes. Went to Turners in San Marcos today and in the glass case was an AR pistol. They're now selling Franklin Armory pistols for $1099.00. Salesman said they were JD made upper and lower. Still not the one I want, but still stoked to see the AR pistol market broadening beyond a few select shops.

that is good indeed seeing what before was a "taboo" specialty item going more mainstream

Considering it's such a hot item currently, and it's at Turner's...that's not a bad price.

I got a buddy that works at a turners down that way. Don't remember if it is that one or not but he told me they were going to start carrying them. They are going to start carrying more AR stuff in general.

I was amazed when I saw the AR pistol in their case. It wasn't six months ago that I was explaining to one of their salesmen how the law worked in regards to the AR & AK pistols. Now, they're carrying them in the stores...

            Good for them!!!

JD has been making AR lowers for quite some time. I think they did a run of Calguns lowers as well. I don't know if it is marked "Pistol" or not, but I know it doesn't matter.

Yes, they make their own line of lowers and also make lowers for several manufacturers. I went on a tour of their shop and they run 24/7 to meet demand. It's been rumored that JD makes the lowers for Spikes and Noveske, both of which are top of the line manufacturers.

And no, the lower was not marked Pistol Only. It simply had name, caliber and serial #.

Jd machine has been doing lowers and uppers for a long time. They were contracted with the military for a while. The son is running the shop now and now they are opening up for custom work and etc.

The son? Does this have to do with the owners possible bribery case?

Well, don't get me wrong, I'm not "taking credit" for it, or anything.

A customer was asking a salesman about Draco pistols and the salesman told him it was illegal. I corrected the salesman and explained the legality behind Dracos and AR pistols, to the best of my knowledge.

To be fair, it's a complicated subject. I wouldn't expect someone to know the specifics about that, off the cuff. Apparently, they've got it figured out now, though...
