Looks like Dicks Sporting Goods might be anchoring and large new shopping mall in the Almaden, San Jose area. Hopefully they will have a well stocked gun department.

Don't count on it. None of the west coast Dick's that I know of have any firearms stuff. -
I wouldnt get my hopes up. I think that the Dicks in Bakersfield is the only one in the state that has firearms and related merchandise.Comment

The ones back east only had a few cheaper hunting shotguns, rifles and air guns. Lower end of the market but they were OK for occasional deals on ammo and hunting gear. Having said that the two near me were closing their firearms departments and only stocking accessories.Comment

bummer, there is a new Dick's opening near me...but I guess I won't have my hopes up... at least I've got BassPro nearby!

They have a add for help here in Freson CA. No store or FFL licesne for Fresno as of Mar 2011.

To bad if they don't sell firearms or ammo. I've heard they are big gun dealers on the east coast and mid-west. Dick's were supposed to open a store across from Bass Pro in Manteca years ago but it never happened for some reason. Even put up signs in the parking lot for it.

Only time I've ever heard of Dicks is when I'm being called one. I know none of the sports authority stores in San Jose sell ammo or guns.There are 3 kinds of people in this world.

A good starting point would be more like Bass Pro Shop. We'll see if they stock guns/ammo or if its going to be just another shoe, tent, softball glove kind of store.NRA & CRPA member

Went to the grand opening of the Dick's in Modesto. They had guns.
