I recently posted a 10 round magazine for an SP2022 on ebay, thinking that it meets all of their rules and requirements as strict as they are.
My auction was quickly ended wihe the following:

Unfortunately, we had to remove your listing because the following information violates our policy:
You listed a Sigarms Sig Pro SP2022 40sw 357Sig Magazine 10Rd, we consider this item to be essential to the firing of a weapon. While all parts of a gun are required for it to function properly, the "essential" parts are generally required for the shooting of a projectile. We understand your frustration that you may not have been aware of this policy. We've decided that some firearm parts are not right for our marketplace or our business. You can still purchase these items from other businesses in the U.S. Please do not relist this item on our site.
We don't allow the sale of most types of firearms and firearm-related items, including:
- Ammunition
- Firearms
- Flares, flare launchers, or flare guns
- Kits for building firearms
- Parts or accessories that allow guns to fire
My response back to ebay was:
I'm sorry you feel this way - Unfortunately - your lack of understanding in this matter is evident as a magazine is merely a means of "holding" ammunition - It is evident in the State of California that the State believes that a magazine is not required to allow a gun to fire. I say this because with each handgun sold in California, the buyer is required to pass a safe handling test.
The California Safe Handling Test is designed to illustrate exactly that - that the handgun is very capable of being fired with no magazine present - thus meeting your requirements stated below
Please see the excerpt below from the State of California Handgun Safety Certificate Manual - Pg. 19
IX Visually inspect the chamber to reveal that a round can be chambered with the magazine removed.
As a longtime friend and supporter of ebay, I hope you will re-consider your position in this matter as it is well within your guidelines according to the State of California
Sincerely,
We'll see what they say - probably a nogo - but gotta make your case!
