Question Regarding AK Pistol

I am looking at buying an AK 47 pistol which is CAli Compliant with the bullet button and single shot sled from one of this sites vendors. My question is, is it legal to remove the single shot ramp/mag and attach a 10 round magazine after the gun has been purchased? Is this considered a modification which is illegal?

A local FFL said they would not do the AK pistol because it could be changed to a 10 round mag making it an assualt weapon. I'm going to a different FFL woh said they would do the deal.

I'm at work and will look at replys when I get home this afternoon.

Yep, once you own it, you can convert it to a 10 round fixed mag pistol. The FFL you went to doesn't know a thing about CA AW laws if he thinks a fixed 10 round mag pistol could qualify as an AW.

Why? AK pistols are novelty guns. I sure don't think they are "awesome". They don't have much practicle use and most people really can't hit scat with them. I've built them because, I can and to make my own little politcal statement. Mine is only fun to shoot off a benchrest because, I can consistantly hit steel at Angeles out to 300 yards. Again, most people can't hit anything past 50 feet with an AK pistol.

I didn't think the point of an AK pistol was to even try for anything past 50 feet. Why the hell are you setting a 300 yard standard for a pistol anyway?
