For all the nutnfancy haters....

I'm on here a lot and every once in a while someone brings up nutnfancy's youtube videos, always someone chimes in an says somthing like " Don't use Nutnfancy's concepts" or "Don't insult so-n-so by comparing him to nutn."

Do people really feel this strongly about someone they have never met...I mean I actually had a modorator tell me I was outta line asking someone HOW comparing so-n-so to nutn was an insult...I was honestly curious.

When I looked at the thread later to see if I was outta line I saw all my comments had been removed...they even removed the comments about my comments...wow....talk about free speech to a point!


Whadyou guys think...is he really that bad?? I know he says dude a lot...

1. You don't have free speech on privately owned forums.

2. I think his stuff is 80% noise 20% content.

From the few videos I've seen, he's non-combat arms military who likes to plug sub-par gear and come off as more high-speed than he really is.

Most people who complain about Nutn generally don't do anything to promote shooting or gun rights themselves, so I don't have a lot of respect for them.

Before you complain about what others are doing, ask yourself what you have done....

I has zero issues with the guy. Find his stuff more entertaining than most Youtube firearm shows.
I agree with his detractors that he's no expert. But sometimes the opinion of an avg joe shooter can mean enough when its some product I'm considering.

There will always be a percentage of folks that don't like one thing or another. Therefore as his popularity grows (just check his views and subscriptions) so grows the group of detractors.

So lets say that there are 8% of people who won't like his stuff. If he has 100 viewers, then obviously 8 won't like it. How about when he has 1,000,000+ views? His videos have been watched over 66 million times btw.

Nutnfancy, like his style or not, is a great supporter of 2A in the USA and has even dedicated time to CA specific issues. He is one of us and does a boat load of good getting our message out: responsible gun ownership is good!

Personally I feel that a lot of the people who hate on him do it because its "cool" to. He may be long winded but he actually tests his gear and gives honest opinions, yes some small things he says arent correct (like when he mentioned glock mag capacity in one of his comparison vids ) but so what? Personally I find him less irritating then 95% of the armchair tactical commando tards that you see on every gun forum in existence who pull most things they say out of their asses.

Also, the people who dont like something are the ones who are usually the most vocal. If you dont like longer format vids then dont watch. I like Hickok's vids too, its the same with any review they give you a viewpoint on which you mke your own decisions on.

I can't call myself a big fan, but I dont hate him either. Unlike most othere reviewers, he prepares for his videos, gives you solid data in numbers, and does some research. As far as the actual combat goes... He only talks about how he trains people, so I doubt tha he stormed Fallujah. So to sum up, he is a good point of reference, but not the gold standard.

It's like everything else, it's what you choose to believe.

He's giving you an opinion on how he tested (whatever) firearm/knife/light etc.

I not saying if he's honest/fair/or right, but he's just giving you a review.

I like any and all reviews about guns, I just take it with a grain of salt, and then make the final decision on what would be best for my needs.

The guy is bright. There is absolutely no question to that. He's either a light colonel or a colonel in the AF if that means anything. I think he runs off the rails when he tries to be cute, when he tries to act like some disjointed homeboy. At first I thought he was just a punk given his baby face and demeanor. Now I think he's putting on an act.

I think his other problem is that he is verbose and repetitive. He generates some very good first hand, empirical data. How he presents it to views is often problematic however.

Greg is cool although he too talks too much. I think a lot of people think "I could do that!" In reality it takes some very special skills to make Greg as likeable and watchable as he is.
