    Anyone recognize this paper patch ammo???

    I was going thru my stuff and I found a couple rounds of ammo that I have no idea what it is:




    Those are the best pics I could get of the stuff???

    Maybe a "paper-patched bullet"-ed cartridge?

        Almost certainly these are german 11mm mauser cartridges for the 71/84
        mauser-note the flat nose, that is for use in a tube magazine, like a winchester.Also note the mauser "A" base which results in a very thick rim about 090 thick,as the US 45-70 of the same era had a rim of .070 thick.

            Not sure, there have been a few 11mm mausers 1871/88 in the market lately. SOmeone might want original rounds (if thats what they are) to go with their antique.
