    duracoat shake 'n spray kit

Has anyone tried these kits? Are they any good? I was thinking about trying it out because it looks pretty simple.

I bought a FDE kit with the Preval spray bottle but I ended up putting the paint in a spraygun kit instead because I had read that the Preval bottles don't last long enough to cover the entire gun adequately.

I believe that to be true because I put three coats of Duracoat on my rifle parts and used up almost half a bottle of paint doing it. I'm sure the Preval would have run out of compressed air before I had finished even one coat.

I say just buy the paint and hardener separately and buy a spray kit from Harbor Freight for less than $10.

    Hope that helped.

Get the full airbrush kit instead. The quick kit blows chunks...no, really, the spray pattern is much too splotchy, and the amount is too heavy for precise painting. A rattle can makes a better spray pattern.

I suppose it would work for large items that don't need a fine smooth finish, but not on a firearm.

But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself...A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague."......Cicero
