Glock SF, Slim Frame or Short Frame?

I was looking at Glock 30's earlier on Gunbroker (great site, btw) and I kept seeing 30SF (Short Frame) as the titles. I saw Slim frame one's too and that is what I have always thought that SF stood for, Slim Frame. Im sure somebody will know this 100%.

        Not slim frame.

Same for the GLOCK 20SF, GLOCK 21SF, GLOCK 29SF and GLOCK 30SF.

The SF stands for Short Frame. (from front to back the handgrip is a little shorter, Not thinner at all)

        Bob

EDIT: The only slim frame that is slim because the magazine is a single stack, it the GLOCK 36. They don't call it the GLOCK 36SF..they call it the GLOCK 36

Not really. Even GUN STORE clerks get the SF part wrong. hahaha

The short part means the handgrip is shorter (not thinner) for people with short fingers.

Personally I have big hands so the stock frames work for me.

Oceanbob is right. The "SF" stands for "short frame" NOT "slim frame". If you think about it, there's nothing "slimmer" about the SF models, they all still use double-stack magazines. The frames are just "shorter".

You're probably confusing these short frame models with the Glock subcompact "slimline" handguns.

The trigger reach is ~1/8" shorter on the SF models IIRC.

It's Short Frame. The effect is similar to exchanging backstraps on the Gen 4 models.

Okay. I've always known it as slim frame. Just checked wikipedia and it is short frame. Anyway still for those with girlie hands.

Yeah..that AD has a mistake in it.

IF you look at the GLOCK 21SF on the same Ad they do get it right and call it a SHORT FRAME.

Slim Frame would mean a thinner frame than standard. The GLOCK 30 and GLOCK 30 SF are exactly the same THICKNESS. Just on the Short Frame Model the front of the handgrip is set back about 3/32 of an inch. (essentually the same grip as the older GENERATION 2 weapons without the finger grooves, Not much difference but is does give people with short fingers more grasp)
