Do you wear Armor at the range?

I wear hard armor, ear muffs, and ballistic goggles whenever I go to the range, if I owned a Kevlar helmet I would wear that too >.>

However, I noticed no one else at my range does, they wear hearing protection and most of the time some form of eye protection, but their core is completely exposed! D:

Now I'm not sure of the statistics, but I figure the chance of you getting hit at a proper range is rather small, but that's what PPE (personal protective equipment) is for, the small chances.

So do you or do you not wear Armor at the range, and why or why not?
I got DOJ on speed dial XD... and it still didn't help

Some places (I think every range in Japan) requires vests and possibly other armor. But, since I don't live in such a restrictive place, of course i don't. I do wear ear and eye protection but, that's it. Actually, if I saw someone at a public range wearing full armor or even a kevlar helmet, I'd LMFAO!

I hear the tinfoil hat actually increases the ability for the CIA to hear your thoughts...

Well I guess since I only shoot at the military range, where they see it all the time, no one says anything.

Yep, completely different. Sorry, most of us here shoot at public or private ranges. There's a difference between recreational shooting and training with all the gear on that one will be wearing when knowingly entering into an armed confrontation. I have to ask, if you are in the military, why can't you get a kevlar helmet?

I wear my kit to the range every time. I also pull up to the range in a Stryker in Iraq.

When I go to a civilian range or shooting anywhere I sure as hell don't where all my gear.

I'm bullet proof! Seriously if I had to wear a vest to the range I would rather stop shooting all together.

I'm USAF, and my job is calibration, not weapons oriented. The only time I get to shoot is when I shoot on the weekends, with my personal firearms.

You are not allowed to use your issued gear for non military activities, so the helmet they issued me can't be used for my weekend shoots.

The armor I wear is my own personal armor I bought with my own money, and to be honest it's higher quality then the issue crap anyways.

                          >.> although I'm never allowed to take it into the field with me because in the field you can only use what's issued

I'm a support guy, and I love being support in the Air Force, I have no desire to join the Army/Marines and go out and do what they do every day.

However I do like to train and gear myself like I will one day, because you never know I might get sent to Iraq or Afganistan for convoy duty and I'd rather be prepared now.

Although with all the civilian available soft bullet proof vests, I'm surprised more shooters don't wear it out.

I wear my steel toes, eyes, ears, vest, helmet, elbow and knee pads, gloves with the fingers cut off and a respirator in case of tear gas.
Hahaha. Sorry I just couldn't hold back.
