    Sellier and Bellot ammo question

I know that this ammo has the red sealant on the bullet and the primer. For those that have used this ammo is it dirty in the sense that the sealant fragments get all over the pistol making it harder to clean up?

the red does get all over, but its pretty easy to clean. I used to shoot a lot of it when I bought a bunch on sale. Never had a problem with it although I'm trying to stay away from the stuff now.

I really dislike S&B. Much happier going with Tula and Brown Bear. Yes the red gets everywhere but my main complaint is trajectory. I can't explain it but Brown Bear and Tula shoots flatter and more consistently

On the 9mm S&B the red sealant doesn't come off in my experience. I've had good luck with them and they seem accurate. The ones I've bought seem to have a type of brass jacketing on the bullet itself, but hasn't been an issue for me.

I would buy again. J&G usually has pretty good deals on it.

I've shot LOTS of S&B---mostly 9mm, but some 45 ACP---good stuff---will shoot more in the furture!

Shot 2000 rounds of it through a 1911 in 4 days. Did not really notice any red in the gun when I was cleaning it.

What is your reason for wanting to stay away from the stuff? Is there something else that's negative about SB ammo?

Whatever little red flakes I noticed in my guns was easily cleaned out.

S&B is great stuff IMHO. Great shelf life and clean shooting.
