I've been watching "Auction Hunters" which is now in its second season. It's the one with the two guys who bid on and buy abandoned storage units and flip the stuff they find. Frequently they find guns and I was wondering how the transfer goes with firearms acquired in this fashion. Obviously it isn't cash and carry on the non-antiques like it's portrayed on the show, but is there a DROS process between the storage unit owner and the buyers, or a special form or what?
Tonight they got an early-1900's Derringer and one of those squeeze-cockers that fires by squeezing your fist, made in the mid-1800's. In the past they've found modern rifles and shotguns, antique breach-loaders, and once they cut open a locked safe and got a Walther P7, so it does vary quite a bit.
