Troy is what I run as back up sights on my 2 AR rifles, however, I run magpul buis on my AR pistol. My AR pistol is more of a novelty gun so I used the lesser quality sights.WELCOME TO CALGUNS!! Search first!!

Both of the sights you're talking about are for backup.
What's your primary? Please read the Calguns Wiki
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.

If you are going to use your irons for real shooting, invest in some quality... most people should learn to shoot with irons to 400 yards well before relying on a sight of any kind. Working on fundamentals with irons is really the way to improve. I used to have magpuls, now I rock troy DOA and regular round with HK front style troy flips. The DOA is a good concept, but the round fits the HK style front better... I use the DOA w/ a standard front post fixed sight and its good..but I'm still not sure I like it better, I think I don't actually but I have it so its on my AR-22. Either way, Troys are rock solid, and they cost about 2x for a set compared to magpuls, but they will never die for your lifetime, and they have a lifetime warranty.NRA Lifetime Member
