    8 or 10rd 1911 mags?

I'm looking for some 1911 mags and saw that Midways has 8 and 10rd Chip McCormick powermags on sale for about $25.

So to all you 1911 guys.....would you go 8 or 10rds.....or some of both?

Most 8 rounders will stick out just bit, just bump pad. It's almost flush. 10 rounders will stick out whole lot more.

10 rounders are more for competition/shooting challenge.
'Cuz big holes are easier to see.

I welcome it. How else would I learn.

I like the std length 7 rnd (or good quality 8 rnd) mags when it comes to hd or pd use.

I run both... I prefer the 10rd mags because it looks good in my gun, and it's 10 rounds instead of 8. But the CMC Power Plus 10rd mags I got, they needed to be broken in with like 60-70 rounds through each mag before they would cycle perfectly through my Kimber TLE. I've read that the Plus mags have a stiffer spring and differnet follower, so not sure if that had any effect on my gun.

Now whether that was a gun issue or a mag issue, it's hard to say since my 8rd CMC Power Mags (not Plus) and my 8rd Kim-Pro Tac mags cycled perfectly from day 1.

Those 10 round CM PowerMags are good to go.
