body armor for the civilian

How does everyone feel about body armor for civilian use? Ive been staring at mine for the past couple of days and Im wondering, how fired up am I going to be IF I have to live in a world where its armor is needed. The flip side is, If I sold it, how crappy am I going to feel if I need it later on down the road. Any thoughts

I'd keep it. It's like an earthquake kit. It's not cheap, it takes up space, and you've never had to use it.

I actually never thought of it that way. I would never sell my earthquake kit and Ill never be able to afford this stuff again at this rate.

To be quite honest, I cannot possibly see why a civilian would want or need a body armor. When would you even wear it?

Anytime I wonder why I'd need something seemingly ridiculous, I flip a coin where heads I watch the WACO video and tails I watch Amy number of Katrina videos. Then I go, "oh yeah... That's why I need this crap."

I guess having and using it for my job puts things in a different perspective for me. IMO KEEP IT! I wear mine because its a tool for me. Heaven forbid a riot breaks out or worse a home invasion you'll be thankful you still have it.

Any recommendations? I'd be looking for a Class 3 or Class 4 that is highly concealed.

I use to foreclose on homes and I have a Class IV vest, when you get a gun stuck in your face you realize you might pick one up. Best investment I ever made.

If i had body armor i could wear under my normal clothes id toss that into my EDC quickski

Unless you plan on wearing it 24/7 you will almost always have it in th trunk when you need it most. AND most bad guys aren't going to stop and let you put it on before they attack you. You would be better off with a ERS platform that is easily deployable.
