      As far as I'm concerned, it's neither. It's just old fashion privacy.

        That was better.

        I personally don't see serial numbers on my guns as something to be protected. I have all my paperwork showing exactly where and when my guns were purchased. If some hack wants to try and call one or all of my guns his, it'll never fly.

          Just like someone stealing my identity and charging stuff on my credit card..
          In the end I'll work everything out but it would be pain where the sun don't shine...

            And I agree 100% with you!

            That's why I asked if anyone had any facts to show that guns are being stolen or confiscated by would be thieves calling them their own.

            If it were shown to me that it's happening then I'd be concerned.
            But something tells me would be thieves have no desire to try and steal guns from honest gun owners via the police and court system.
