30 rd magazine clarification

Ditto.
If you have a bullet button or other maglock on your gun, you must not insert a 10+rd magazine into that gun.
If you have no maglock, and you have a 200rd drum that you legally possess, you can use the drum legally.- Rich

Ok so my AR has a BB so to legally shoot them at the range - have to block them? I only have 1 10rd mag and it would really suck to have to reload the same mag every 10 rounds!A peace sign is really only a middle finger and a trigger finger away---- Think about it!

Or you could make your rifle featureless, get rid of the BB and use your 30s legally.
If you decide to keep the BB, you will have to block ("permanently" I believe) your hi cap mags to 10 or lessComment

I saw a piece at the gun show it snaps on andoff your grip, sorta like a moster grip but you can slap it on n off real quick
Slap that on, crank on a BB wrench and drop 30rd mags?I'm banging the chick in my avatar, think I can get a CCW now?Comment

As long as you don;t also have a flash hider, telescoping/folding/thumbhole buttstock, or grenade/flare launcher.
Pistol grip is not the only "evil feature". Flash hiders are equally common.
And "slap it on an off real quick" doesn't sound 100% legal.
I trust that it uses screws or some other method of being secured that requires a tool to remove?- Rich

No tools, just a piece of kydex that slides over the grip and makes it look like a monster grip...
I totally forgot about flash hiders thoI'm banging the chick in my avatar, think I can get a CCW now?Comment

If you have 30 round magazines that you owned prior to 2000, set them away in a closet and buy some others to block. Gods kills a kitten every time a legal hi cap in California gets destroyed.Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

a kydex style grip that "slides right off" would likely NOT be legal at all. I certainly wouldn't use one.Comment

lol ok will do! I'm just gunna purchase 2 more 10rd mags for range use. Thanx for all the feedback guysA peace sign is really only a middle finger and a trigger finger away---- Think about it!

Also once you convert your legally owned 30 rounders to 10 rounders, by law they cannot be converted back.
The whole 30 rounder mag law seems so relaxed for our gun Nazi state. You don't have to proove anything how you got them, so what's stopping people from buying out of state or rebuild kits and putting them together and just saying you obtained them legally? Since you can legally obtain them by "finding them, or having an out of state store accidentally ship them to you" as what all the calgunners say is another legal way to get them.Last edited by xxINKxx; 03-31-2011, 10:38 AM."If a law is unjust, a man is not only right to disobey it, he is obligated to do so." - Thomas JeffersonComment

Every grip wrap that I've seen wraps the grip and is secured with screws through the fin... and those screws are HARD to line up because they snug the wrap up so tight.
If someone is making a wrap that simply slips over and offering them at gun shows, please bring the name of the vendors and manufacturer to Gene's attention... like the "mag-magnet", this needs to be stopped before someone gets arrested.
People come up with crap all the time and sell it because it's not illegal to sell. They have some disclaimer in fine print "Not for use within California on a Semiautomatic Centerfire rifle with SB23 Features"... often inside the packaging so the buyer can't even see it until he's home.
Demos at the gun shows are on either featureless rifles, or on lowers without an upper, or on .22lr rifles.
The manufacturers and vendors KNOW that they are offering something that is potentially illegal if misused... and they present it at the gun shows that would lead the buyer to believe that such "misuse" is legal.- Rich
