    ?HSC and DROS?

So about 8 years ago my girlfriend and I got in a major argument, which basically resulted in a misdemeanor/domestic violence and her getting arrested, taking anger management classes, appearing in front of a judge,etc... Around 2006 this all cleared by the court and can show proof of this(paperwork).

    My question is,

    1. Is she able to take her HSC?
    2. Can she purchase a firearm handgun/rifle?
    3. If so when she answers the questions does she have to check Yes on some of the questions like "Have you been arrested" and so on in the DROS process. (Sidenote) when she applied for a job in and questions ask of being arrested she answered NO, but not sure if this kind of applies with a firearms

    OR

What steps are needed to obtain a firearm with proof of clearance of her misdemeanor?

    Much appreciated!

If she wants to be 100% certain on if she can acquire/possess a firearm, she should send a completed Personal Firearms Eligibility Check Application to CA DOJ BOF.

Partly depends on which misdemeanors she was convicted of, if any. Some are a 10-year prohibition, so in 2018 for a problem in 2008.

See this page at the Wiki - http://wiki.calgunsfoundation.org/in...s_prohibitions

Lawyers are expensive, sometimes, but very useful in cases like this.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

If she was convicted (plead guilty or no-contest/nolo-contendre) of misdemeanor DV, you can thank Senator Lautenberg... she is prohibited for life.
If the charge was reduced, she should be good to go, but I agree that running the PFEC is a good idea.
