    Which Glock ?

I want to purchase a full size 9mm ( G17 )..Then I got to thinking, if I buy a full sized .40 cal Glock..not sure which model it is...

    1) Can I get a factory barrel to shoot .357 Sig ?

    2) Can I purchase a factory or after market barrel to shoot 9mm?

    3) Will I need different mags for each caliber ?? I'm thinking .40 & .357 Sig are the same mags?? but not 100% sure.

Any info from Glock fans with pro's & Con's would be appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.

    Yes
    Yes
.40 and .357 use the same mag, you need 9mm for the conversion barrel

Glock 22 is the full size Glock in .40S&W
        1) Can I get a factory barrel to shoot .357 Sig ?
        Yup.
        2) Can I purchase a factory or after market barrel to shoot 9mm?
Yup. Sometimes the .40S&W extractor does not work flawlessly when shooting 9mm out of an originally .40S&W gun, but not always.

You might need 9mm magazines to feed 9mm reliably (some people, including myself have successfully loaded 9mm into a magazine designed for .40S&W, but you are correct that .40S&W and .357 Sig use the exact same magazines.

Thanks Turo...I didn't think about the possible extractor issues...makes sense. Wonder if a heaver ext. spring would help 9mm function

The 9MM and .40/.357 extractors are different part numbers and are pretty likely (haven't measured one myself to be sure) to be differently dimensioned. A heavier extractor spring might be helpful, but a correct extractor would probably be better.

I thought about doing the same thing with my glock but after doing some research.
I relized I was better off buying a cheap good value 9mm.. I ended up getting ruger sr9 and I love it. I'm glad I did not do the conversion barrel.

conversion barrel like wolf is made with tighter tolerance than factory barrel. and like Turo mentioned extractor will make your glock less reliable...(then whats the point of having a glock if it isn't 100 reliable right)

I got a Storm Lake 9mm conversion barrel for my Glock 22. I think it's fine for target practice but I still ended up buying a Glock 17 because I found a good deal on a Gen4. I like both the 22 and 17 full size frames for the range.

Take a look at a Glock 19. The mid-sized frame seems to have a nice balance of size and versatility.

I got a Glock 22 with a Lone Wolf Conversion 40-9mm. So far, after 500rds still no problem. I even recommended it to 2 other friends too and they are loving it. No hiccups!
