Firearms exporter

Hey guys,
Just looking for some advice, I'm from the land down under and have been looking at buying a rifle from the States, the dealer I have spoken to, says he can't ship the rifle himself he will need to send it to an exporter if I know one. The problem is I don't know any exporters over there, can anyone one point please point me in the direction of a licensed exporter.

I tried to export some AR-15 receivers to New South Wales a long time ago, in 1994, and the laws might have changed since then. Having said that:

Anyone can export a firearm to Australia, as long as it doesn't violate any of the laws in both countries.
1. The recipient has to secure an import license and approval
2. The exporter can be a licensed exporter who pays a large annual fee, or a private individual who does a one-time exportation and gets this fee waived. I fell into this category.
3. In my case, I filled out the appropriate paperwork with the State Department, showed I complied with ITAR regulations, and waited 4 months for approval.
4. With approval letter in hand, along with the recipient's import license, the exporter sends the firearm along with paperwork to the recipient.

In my case, I got the export approval, but the receiver had his importation license rejected by the chief of police in his province, state, or township ( I can't remember ) and I never sent the receivers.

The hardest part is finding someone willing to go through all the paperwork and pay an application fee to export the gun. What gun are you trying to import to Australia?
