Shooting Vid

Here is a video of a few of my friends and I shooting. I did a little editing and set it to some music, hoping some people would enjoy a quick intermission, lol. Let me know what you guys think, we 'd like to do more videos, but only if people will watch them.

When you run the gun empty, do you always point the muzzle towards the roof and your face, or was that just for the camera?

I'd get out of that habit quickly, it's not a good one to have.

I NEVER point a gun at my face. I see that the guy shooting the 1911 points the muzzle up, but I dont see him pointing it at his face. One of the points we would like to represent in our vids is gun safety, so where are you seeing this?

Pointing up at the roof isn't the best place to point the gun. It's not at his face, but it's getting a lot closer than it should imo.

The gun was empty when he did this, but once you develop a habit it's hard to break. I could see him doing this after firing a couple rounds without even thinking about it.

Ok... I will pass this along to him. Certainly dont want to show unsafe anything really. We are all very safety conscious, but I do see your point.

Its funny, theres a shot of me shooting without my "eyes" on, I was sure that was going to be first comment lol. Since shooting these initial videos we added the rule that we always wear all safety gear, especially when be being filmed. To my defense (excuse coming), I had been wearing safety glasses, but it was getting dark and my clears were at home.

So what did you think? Did you like it set to music? We plan on doing more, and are working out some better angles, and getting more video.. Hopefully to make a entertaining shooting vid.

I have a range bag that has all my gear in it. I never have to worry about not having eyes or ears with me.

As for what I was saying earlier, habits are easy to form. And once you get into a habit it's hard to break it. Muscle memory is what you default to during an emergency. I can just see him popping off a round or two and then bringing the gun up , and if someone scares him, he could ND upwards.

Yep, he and his buddy are part of "snow" crew and live up in Alaska, so I will be passing it on to him ASAP. I'd like to defend him and say it was just the camera angle, but I am down here in So Cal, and was not there to see it. He will probably be surprised to see himself doing that, as he IS a safe shooter other wise, as we all are.

And I keep everything in my range bag too now. Both pairs of safety glasses, muffs, and extra plugs for visitors. Live and learn.

And yes, we are going to be filming w/ 2 camera next time we go outdoors, and will be trying some shots from "down range". Post your video when you get it, I would like to check i out.

Dont mean to sound like a d*ck but the music sounded like it was recorded in a basement bathroom converted into a crappy music studio lol, video was cool n everything im just really big on music production and sound qualities when i record.

Yeah, thats a pretty cool angle, Nice quality too.

I have a couple other ideas I am going to try to incorporate into our next video as well. I want to try and "flash" it up a little, but without getting too out there where it loses the content of us actually shooting.
