U.S. Firearms, Sunnyvale, CA First Impression Review

Went to check it out on a day off just to see the new shop in town. They are located on Mary Ave., just off El Camino in Sunnyvale.

Like all new gun shops, they are building up their inventory of guns and accessories so at the time the accessories were a bit slim but they did have a decent amount of handguns, shotguns, and rifles.

I spoke to Mike and he happily showed me all the guns I was interested in (mostly Sigs). Took his time with me and I didn't feel rushed at all despite other customers coming in.

Curiously he asked me to show him my shooting grip and he was able to give me a few tips and suggestions, which I tried out next time I was out shooting and did see some improvements.

Prices are reasonable and everyone working there seemed really friendly and willing to help.

I'll definitely be back when I'm in the market again.

Again, this is just my first impression on visiting their shop for the first time. So far so good. Customer service is top notched.

Glad to know there is another customer service oriented gun store in the neighborhood. This can only mean more options for us buyers and more competition for our $$.

BTW, I'm not affiliated with them in any way. Just wanted to give them a review.

    Go check them out.

I stopped by for the first time over the weekend - seems like a nice store, nice folks, a moderate selection of modern handguns (including a couple of Les Baer 1911's), shotguns, and a fair number of what looked to me like Garands. Not a lot of JHP defensive handgun ammo, which is what I was hoping for, but they said they're expecting a shipment at the end of this week. Pricing seemed comparable to other brick & mortar stores around here. Friendly people, not the typical gun store commando attitude.

Thanks to this thread I went to check them out today - only bought some ammo, but I agree with what the other posters are saying. I will definitely be going back, probably to get an 870. Great selection of milsurps: garands, m1 carbines and enfields in particular. They all looked in excellent condition, unlike other stores I've been too. They have OLL rifles too (LMT on the racks), and had some Arsenals but they got sold out so they are awaiting restock. They sell quality stuff and prices seem reasonable. Staff was very friendly, professional and helpful - I brought one of my friends who was new to guns and the staff were very good on explaining the basics to him, as well as the importance of training. The did not focus on a selling a particular brand, which I felt was very classy. No gun store commando talk from them at all.

If you're in the area definitely check them out - we need more gunstores like them around.

Disclaimer: I have no affiliation with the company.

Did you happen to catch any prices on the Baers? (Were the reasonably priced?)

This is my personal favorite gunstore. Their handgun selection is a bit light compared to others, but the no grief on a PPT, and no "superiority" complex talking down to you is great. I even bought my 590 from them for more than I would have paid going the budsguns, etc route just because it was easier and they give such great service. Its worth a few extra bucks if it helps keep them open.

I went back a few weeks ago just to check in on the shop. I spoke to Mike again and again he was very helpful and eager to show me whatever I wanted to look at. They have increased their inventory of both guns and accessories which shows that hopefully their business is on track and they are doing well.

I was looking for a A2 stock and although they didn't have one in stock from their store inventory, one if their employees just happen to have a complete Colt A2 stock for sale from his own collection. Made an offer on it and got it. I was very happy!

They also let me hold and dry fire a super nice LMT .308 that they had on the rack. Man the break away on that trigger is awesome!

I will have to go check them out again when my 30 day DROS wait is up.

I don't know the Baers well enough to discuss that intelligently - but my overall impression was that their pricing on firearms was moderate - not as cheap as the best Internet pricing (which isn't really comparable to a F2F gunstore, I know) but outrageously high, either. I'd go back.
