    My glock is misbehaving

    Hello Everybody:

I have a glock 23 (.40 cal ) and up till today I did not have a glitch.

I was in the range today when I was surprised that with each trigger pull

two rounds are going off !!!

It is the fastest double tap a human being would pull, but it was not.

Again, two rounds with one trigger pull. The gun is clean and properly oiled, and

it happened over and over again.

I did not work on the gun, not altered, nothing...

    I am seeking advice please.

    Thank you very much

    Robert

Same thing happened to me, although intermittently. Armorer at a GSSF match replaced the recoil spring. Problem solved.
My G23 had about 2000 rounds through it at that point. Varying recommendations, but all say replace the spring assembly every 1500-3000 rounds. They're cheap. I always carry a spare, as well as the last one I retired.

My first advice would be DO NOT shoot it at all. I have heard stories of guns going full auto at the range and getting in some serious trouble even though they did not alter there gun. Like STITCH said dis assemble and contact GLOCK.

Call them ASAP. Glock will take care of it.

Robert, I would just call Glock and see what they say. Maybe there is a Glock Armorer near you that also may be able to help....

I've heard of this kind of thing happening a number of times, I have 3 glocks, and haven't had this issue. Is there any explanation as to what causes it.

I suspect there remains an underlying problem.

                      Buy a SiG?

But seriously, do contact Glock and get the gun to a factory service center ASAP. You don't want anyone thinking you have an illegal FA conversion going. There have been more than a few anecdotal reports of guns doubling or tripling and attracting unwelcome attention from government employees. While anecdotal means it might or might not be true, given how BATFE will manipulate a suspect gun to make it do what would be illegal, it's definitely not worth fooling around with.

                      Get that gun fixed, pronto.

So best bet to prevent such a thing would be to replace recoil spring regularly ??

Replacing the springs is worthwhile, but I would also include a complete disassembly and cleaning. Not just a field strip, I mean pulling the whole thing apart and inspecting and cleaning it completely.

                              guys:

Your quick are overwhelming, thank you for the responses.

1- The handgun has been disassembled and left it at home., especially knowing that it is my carry ( CCW ) gun.

                              2- I will GLOCK tomorrow.

3- the gun has gone through 5000 rounds at least, so it could be time for some parts
replacement. Yet, seriously, I have taken good care of it and always cleaned it after
shooting it and it is in a great shape.

4- Since I did not master my handgun yet, there could be some " underlying problems"
like AAShooter mentioned and it is always helpful to know.

5- @Bobula, excuse my ignorance, but is there another term for " stryker " , is that
                              the firing pin ?
I bought a glock because my best friend ( LEO ) recommended it, and so there was a
first glock and then a second, it will stop there...lol...maybe a 1911 next...

Just after I posted the thread I was reading similar posts online and it does seem to be
a recurring problem, and there could be one " master trick " that is causing this.

I appreciate all responses and feedbacks.
