good target stand

I'm looking for a good target stand. I saw some at a local gunshow and they looked nice.

It was a little flat piece of metal with two holes on either side to insert wood poles that would hold up the target for about $25.00 but I didn't get the name does anyone know what I'm talking about and have them? If so where can I get them online?

two 6' sticks of rebar - $7
two 8' sticks of 2x2 pine - $5
some plywood i had laying around - free
cheap spray paint (not needed) - $1
two binder clips - $2

GRAND total of $15

Here is a pile of target stands that my IDPA club had made by our local High School metal shop. Cost was 15 dollars each. They also made some 45 degree rearward leaners. and some 60 degree side leaners.

Open House signs!

I live on a corner and the local realtor's keep putting signs in my yard. Used to piss me off, until I realized that they were actually donating great shooting signs and stands for me.

Made mine out of plastic plumbing tubing---cost about seven dollars---folds flat for transport---needs lead shot inside or a large rock to hold-up in wind---have used for last two years---now my brother wants one...

Go to Home Depot or Lowes or any other hardware store or raid your garden shed.

You'll need the following:

2 x 2'-3' iron contractor stakes or rebar
1 x 10' 3/4" PVC pipe (you can get a smaller diameter as long as it fits over the stake or rebar)
Zip-ties
Sheet of cardboard for target backing

Cut the PVC in half so you get 2 x 5' lengths.

Poke holes in the card board at the corners and along 2 edges.

Zip-tie the cardboard sheet to the PVC.

Pound in the stakes/rebar into the ground spaced out the same width as your PVC target.

Slip the target over the stakes.

Very inexpensive, very portable, and it stands up to the wind pretty good too.

Obviously you won't be able to use this if the ground is hard rock or concrete but most places you should be good to go.

i was lucky enough to pick up one those plastic fold out signs that you can fill with sand or water (obviously mine hasa a few holes in it at this point). the plastic is heavy enough but soft enough to stand up to hits with almost anything i regularly hit it with 30.06 rounds and it doesnt even flinch.... no spikes or hangers needed. and light enough to transport anywhere and hump out to the range you want to shoot.

(mine came from sprint, i still see them outside of some of the sprint stores...)

I built one out of PVC pipes that works great. 10 feet of 3/4 inch PVC is only a couple dollars. Some T connectors and a few 90's for the corners. I zip tie a piece of cardboard to the frame and staple targets to it, a few sandbags on the square base and the whole thing can be pulled apart for transport.

I am working on a few more, I plan to make a pistol course with some wooden obstacles like a five foot 2x4 frame covered with a sheet of plywood with square holes cut at the top standing, middle kneeling, and bottom for prone and PVC target stands at different heights and distances.
