Am I having a stroke? DROS date

I had a good experience at the Signal Hill Turners. Bought myself a Ruger 22/45.

Here's the question, if the DROS date is 3/22/2011 at 2:38 PM, what time and date should I be able to pick up my gun. On my sheet it says, 4/2/2011 at 2:38 PM.

Is that right? Shouldn't it be 4/1/2001 at 2:38 PM?

Since March has 31 days, I would say 4/1. From what I gave read about some stores, the shoot for 11 days.
Maybe the clerk thought March had 30 days.

I'm pretty that it's only Big 5 that does the 11 day thing. But regardless, the O/P should be able to count off the hours and go pick up his toy at 240 hrs. + 1 minute after the Dros was started.

And btw, I bought our 795 at the same store-----those folks are triple cool and very helpful. Especially the older chunky white guy who has property in Arizona. Key-rhyst, I could listen to him tell stories all fricken day......

I too DROSed a 22/45 at Turners today in Fountain Valley and my paperwork says 4/1/11 12:58. So maybe they just wrote the wrong date down call them and double check.

Not only big 5 does the 11 day thing.

Grants does the 11 day thing, but if you go in an the 10th day after the 240th hour, that give you your gun(s)

Targetmasters in Milpitas, and Bullseye Castro Valley (when they could sell guns) also have policies for an 11 day infringement period.

They must figure that if a 10 day infringement on constitutional rights is good, an 11 day infringement on constitutional rights is BETTER!!

Likewise, except I DROSed on 3/21 and pick-up date is 3/31. Looks like OP's clerk miscounted or look at the calendar wrong.

Probably just an honest mistake. Call them and ask.

Turners has ALWAYS been good to me about honoring the EXACT 240 hours and not a minute more.

I would chalk this up to an honest mistake.

I am with the consensus here, probably just an honest mistake. I shop at the SH turners all the time and have usually picked my guns up at 240 hours 1 minute, they definitely do not do an 11 day wait..

as was pointed out in other threads..the DROS and 4473 are not complete until AFTER the waiting period...so they are under no restriction to release the gun at 240.1hours when your paperwork states otherwise. They must releases the gun before thirty twenty four hour periods are up, but after ten twenty four hour periods..
