So here's the deal.... according to the ranger station at Jawbone, just "within the last few months" they were instructed that ammunition with any lead was illegal to shoot on BLM land. I told the ranger that it was my understanding that was only mandatory for hunting, and that it was only suggested for target shooting.
Of course, when I asked, she could neither produce the memo, or the PC for it, and her superior was out on lunch... and that so long as we cleaned up our shells, nobody would know.
