    marking in saiga

    i bought and converted my saiga rifle a while back and i could never figure out what this means

    it says "rosjagn" right next to the safety it is a 20" 7.62x39

    anybody know what that means

    I have the same thing on one of my Saiga .410 shotguns. I have no idea what it is.

      Supposedly its a German importer marking, but I can't confirm this.

          I asked the same question on Saiga 12 forum. Apparently the word is ROSJAGD, not Rosjagn. The letters are all caps and the "D" is just "sytlized"

          Here is what I got.

          "In context Ros (Russ) colloquial slang = Red (Russian). Jagd = Hunt, hunting. The mark is from a now defunct German firearms importer."
