    Gun Juice?

What do you guys think of Gun Juice from Microlon? A friend of mine got some at the show and it did seem to make cleanings easier after it was appied. Thoughts?

I remember running into a guy at the costa mesa GS, he was selling it. Nice guy, I remember him telling me that it has no teflon and it is some kind of proprietary formula, yada yada. got curious and did some research, googling, etc. on it, and from what i can tell, (A) Its a pain in the *** to apply it properly, and (B) The "magical ingredient" in gun juice is actually the chemical equivalent of teflon, while not being called teflon. Im curious about it too, but the amount of effort required to apply it properly makes me not care that much.

Yes that is true, I ended up trying it out after all. A lot of work but did notice cleaning was easier.

I tried it, and liked it enough to become a dealer. <g>

There are several ways to apply it. The best overall results probably come from several applications with heat applied to the treated parts each time, but you'll still see benefits just by applying it like regular lube. Done right, it's a one-time process that won't come off without machining or excessive heat. Done quickly, you might want to apply it again at some point, but you still get good results.

On my Sig P229, I applied it to the slide rails and assembled the gun without the recoil spring and cycled the slide a few dozen times while watching TV. Then I applied it to the trigger mechanism and firing pin channel, and dry-fired a few dozen times. Later, when I got the chance, I treated the barrel with the swab-fire routine.

I especially like it on my KelTec P3AT. Tiny pistols like that operate with a very thin margin for error, and oil-type lubes can slowly drain to the point the gun doesn't have enough lubrication to function, or attract enough dust/lint to impede function. Grease lubes are much better, since they stay in place, but the dust/lint problem is still there. Microlon dries but leaves the lube in place.

I actually like Microlon Assembly Lube better, and that's what I used on my guns, with a little Gun juice on areas I couldn't get to otherwise. I used a toothpick to apply the Assembly lube, and the included pipette for the Gun Juice.

Try the Sportsman's Kit - it includes enough of both for several handguns.

I offer a 20% discount every day, but use coupon code calgun411055 for total of 40% off. I'll set it to expire April 30, and it's available to anyone, on all the products.

Ogmeister - Thats a nice deal you are offering on it, I may try it just because its a smokin deal Maybe you could help clarify what is actually in the gun juice? Is it a teflon type substance? I've seen such wide ranging information on it that it is hard to determine what is accurate, though clearly if you liked it enough to become a dealer, it must do something! By the way, that link says the kit is on backorder.

Hey - thanks for catching the backorder info! I just updated the inventory - it should be fine now.

I don't know what's in it - it's a closely held secret. I couldn't get three feet into the area where the stuff is formulated. LOL

I do remember a really old article I read about the inventor; he said it wasn't Teflon. Maybe it's based on Teflon. It actually bonds to the metal, rather than being an additive, and I don't think the generic Teflon-infused products do that.

There's lots of forum posts about Microlon, and they usually fall into two categories; they've tried it, and liked it, or they haven't tried it but pompously declare that it couldn't possibly work, and that it's snake oil. LOL - I almost called the website "SnakeOilSales.com."
