I use Molybdenum grease for slides, bolts, hammer and sear interfaces because it stays put and the moly does a great job at reducing the friction even after the grease has worn away a bit. For pins, the sides of hammers or other rotating or parts I want to move fast I use a mixture of moly grease, 15w40 Redline motor oil, and a little bit of Marvels mystery oil. About 30% 60% and 10% in that order. The moly/redline mix is something a friend of mine used to use on RC cars which if I remember gave them somewhere alone the lines of 15% higher rpms. It really does slick things up nicely I, and I throw a touch of Marvels in to thin it out a little. And because it has a high detergent content in it I think it does a good job of keeping carbon fouling loose just like it would do in engines.
The one thing to remember about Molybdenum Disulphide is that its hydrophilic so there is some possibility that it will attract and hold water increasing the chances of rust.Comment
