    Gun Food

Went to my local Wally World today and the sporting goods clerk asked me the same two questions he always asks when he sees me, "What is it today, .223, 9 or .45?" and "All of it?". Couldn't make up my mind, so I picked up the following

I know, I know. I should be reloading, but until then, my guns gotta eat.

Nice. I probably buy only half that amount when I go and get looks like I'm going to start a war. Do you ever get that look?

All the time. Along with the: "Why do you need all those bullets?" "Are you going to use all of those?" "I don't get why you would buy that much." etc. etc. I usually just stare back at them blankly.

that wouldnt last to long it seems but its better then MOST surplus ammo and if it would make the guns last longer then its worth it in my book...whats the price tag on that shopping spree?

You don't have to start reloading at any particular time, but be damn sure to keep all the new(once fired) factory brass. You'd be surprised at what you can collect in about 18 months.

Several of my shooting buddies thought that they were buying "in bulk" by purchasing more than 2 boxes of ammo at a time! I quickly steered them away from spending more money than was necessary!

I know how much of a temptation it is to buy what you see, but....start looking at the on-line and mail order prices! Some of them even include shipping and handling charges, and if you purchase from out-of-state businesses, there's no CA sales tax! It gets delivered to your door, and almost like Christmas! Buy by the CASE, or go in with someone else to split a case!

I don't want to make WalMart more wealthy than they alread are, and enjoy "cheating" the State of California out of their sales taxes!

You could probably afford to leave some of the common calibers on the ground..hehe (for years and still have some left). I really chase after the 45 acp, but I sometimes don't bother to collect all of my 9mm, for example.

I would just look around and up at the ceiling and wave my hands around and say, "Why do we need all this air?" That's as good an answer as any.

How much was the 7.62 x 39? Are those 40 round boxes?
