    Costa Mesa Gunshow March 26-27

So I searched crossroads of the west, Costa Mesa, google, and finally calguns to no avail for an answer. I wanted to take my S&W AR-15 to the upcoming gun show to #1 Have a smith remove the damn castle nut that i can't remove without fear of destroying my black beauty, #2 mount accessories on my rails to see if I'd like to take stuff home with me... Thus the questions, am I allowed to bring the rifle, how, and should I? Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Also this thread is now an generic Costa Mesa pump up thread.

Transport as you would to the range unloaded and cleared w/bolt open. Have the gun cleared and tagged at the table by the main entrance and then enjoy the show.

Yes, perfectly legal to throw it over your shoulder and walk it in. In your case I would...it would be SO much easier than trying to pull it in and out of a case or bag over and over again. Check it in at the entrance...they'll put a color marker in the action showing it's locked open and you're good to go. Have fun and go EARLY (8-9) to beat the crowds.
