What do you prefer?

After watching top shot, I thought how many of us are proficient at one type of weapon & how many of us are jacks of all trades?

Do you stick with just one type of firearm (pistols or rifles or shotguns)? Or are you of the mindset that, if it shoots, you want in on some of the action?

I used to be a long range rifle guy after a long and well worn Marine Corps career in many a dusty places; pistols I used on rare occasion, mostly in the latter part of my deployment. What's a shotgun again?

Then I got bitten by the 3 gun bug...so we'll see

I mainly shoot pistols and rifles. I will shoot shotgun from time to time (but not often).

I don't have the time or money to be as diverse as I would like to be.

But I am game to try anything. I too say, bring it on!

I'll mess with any type of weapon -- firearm or otherwise. I've always liked this quote:

i enjoy shooting everything, although i certainly don't consider myself anything great with a pistol. i mostly collect and shoot old rifles so that's what shoot more of than anything else. still, i choose pistols, rifles, and shotguns, because i like them all.

I like to have some proficiency with any tool I use. The only ones I haven't tried yet are the ballistic missile and rail gun.

btw, you forgot fencing...I use to do that too.

I'm proficient with a rifle and shotgun(at least I think so) and horrible(but improving) with pistols. I like all 3, but the shotgun doesn't get much use because I don't shoot clays or hunt.

Although since you mentioned Top Shot, you're forgetting that some people might be awesome with a rifle on a bench, doesn't mean they can shoot playing cards in half over their shoulder backwards using a mirror at 25 yards. Benchrest, 3 gun, tactical, hunting, and cowboy action are different beasts.
