One more reason to get a CCW. 15 attackers? I think anyone could justify a shoot if they were getting a beatdown by that many peeps.

Doubt it, once he fires his first round, the rest will scatter and run.

Anyone could intervene with lethal force in a situation like that, not just the victim, given the overwhelming disparity of force.

                        True.
If this guy just would have called the police, they would have shown up right away. Or he could have called santa claus and the easter bunny, all of the above would have yielded similar results.

There are other ways to not become a victim if carrying a gun is not an option. First of all.... don't look like a victim and you won't become a victim. From what I've seen people who get mugged and robbed look like they can easily be taken advantage of; criminals prey on the weak. Secondly, be aware of your surroundings. Even if you had a gun on you if someone suddenly grabs you from behind and chokes you out, you don't even have a chance to use it. Third, try to stay visible if at all possible. Walking through ally ways or in secluded areas is just asking to get mugged. Fourth, take some self defense classes/martial arts.

Not to burst your bubble, but 15 attackers would probably not care if you looked like a victim or not. 15 attackers might over come your awareness of your surroundings even if your took off running the second you were aware of them. 15 attackers would see your visibility as an advantage. 15 attackers could easily overcome your chuck norris skills.

So, any other ideas on this scenario better then a bang stick?

Really dude? While it's sad a 2 year old died in that incident, but that kid would be 13 today. 12/24/2000 is the date on that article.
There are 3 kinds of people in this world.
The wise, learn from the mistakes of others.
The smart, learn from their own mistakes.
The others, well......they just never learn.
