Why all the talk about High Cap mags?

I have been seeing a lot of talk on the board about California legalizing High Capacity Magazines / Large Capacity Magazines / LCM's or whatever terminology is currently being used.

I haven't spent hours searching, but I did do some search and I cannot find anything that leads me to believe the California High Cap ban is being challenged and will be over turned anytime soon.

Am I missing something? is there some kind of hopeful litigation currently going on? or is it just a lot of wishful thinking?
    1 Peter 3:15

But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect

    2 Corinthians 3:3
You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.

                  I looked around for buttons.

Is there a way to filter for only posts by a certain individual?

If you don't mind a a technical opinion from a real lawyer. No. No litigation is pending that directly addresses this law, and there is really no immediate hope of overturning this law anytime soon. (really). LOTS of wishful thinking.

Even the "secret plan" that has been bandied about here will only affect handgun mags and not the AR and rifle mags which most people are really wanting the most.
(sorry for the bucket of ice water).

Thanks for the honest straight forward input

For me personally, the high cap mag thing doesnt matter to me too much.

I have legally owned/possed high cap mags. I have a a featureless rifle I could use them in.

And the range I go to, hardly anyone is ever there so I probably would never be questioned anyway.

For me, the only thing that would be "nice" I guess is for my new XD45. I could have a 13 round mag instead of a 10 round.

And it would open up my ability to purchase differant types of firearms I would like to get a PS90 for one. I have seen California models, but I thought I had heard it is difficult to get 10 round mags. and I think the standard mag for it is a 50 round mag.

I guess something to not count on then.

                          Thanks again for the response..

I heard there was going to be a new armored car company starting up. Won't carry moneybags, instead it'll be stocked with high cap mags.

I have it on good authority that the plan goes something like this:

                              1) You place an order with Gene for a high cap mag
                              2) Gene while holding a high cap mag walks into CGF's new "Molecular Duplicator" which has taken years of development.
                              3) Out of this new device walks both Gene and a copy of Gene called Gene 2.0, both of which still holding high cap mags.
                              4) Gene 2.0 wills you your ordered high cap mag and his last Will and Testament are notarized on the spot.
                              5) Then Gene 2.0 says "For gun rights! Remember my sacrifice!" and presses a button releasing a trap door to a sealed water tank which closes above him
                              6) 5 minutes later you are handed your willed high cap mag, since Gene 2.0 is no longer with us and as such Gene 2.0 cannot be prosecuted for a 12020 violation.... next customer

I suppose its possible I could have been misled, but I'm pretty that's how it works
