Deny LEO his weapon inside residence

Like others said, it would depend on *WHY* the LEO was there.

Here's one to think about though.....

If I was a potential witness of a crime. They *want* to talk to me. I *dont* have to talk to them.

I *could* tell them to take off the bat belt (except radio) and the ankle piece and put them away if they want to come in.

They would then decide they want to talk to me at the door, which I could refuse.

Technically, you could *make* them play your game if they want to talk to you bad enough.

Good idea? probably not....

Someone here has the sig line about not testifying as a witness unless they give you a CCW.

There's wiggle room depending on *why* the LEO are there.

Aside from that....

The posts about racism against LE is fubar. Especially here in Cali.

Do I, as a property owner have the legal right to deny a LEO from entering my resident with his weapon? Since this is my property, I can make my "laws" to protect my rights and family. Otherwise, I greet LEO at the door and go outside, even if they ask to come in. (This is just a question that I've been wanting to ask). New to the board, long-time gun owner, and am really enjoying all the information on-board.

Simple answer is of course you do without a warrant. They need your permission and any stipulations to enter your property without one.

With a warrant? They get to make the rules, shoot your dog, accidentally knock down the door of your neighbor, etc.

If you are throwing a drinking party and inviting some LEO's I'd say sure (off duty)
If there on official business, if you want their help because someone stole your stuff, it's a lot to ask.

Small SF East Bay suburb ~ 2003: dispatch gets a 911 hang-up from a residence and send an officer to check it out. The uniformed officer (who was black) knocks on the front door, sees the window curtain move slightly, but nobody answers. Moments later, dispatch gets another 911 call from the resident... this time she stays on the line and tells the dispatcher that there is "a black man impersonating a police officer trying to break into my house". The officer just cleared the call as unfounded and left.

OMG, its hard living in the bay area to believe this level of racism even exists anymore.

People of any race can be a no good murderous thug. There's black thugs, punk white thugs, hispanic thugs.... If someone dresses and acts like one, then I got no problem with you treating them like one. Doesn't matter what race they are.

LOL @ this post... I've gone in many homes and no one has ever asked me to leave my duty weapon in the car. If anything, they have questions about it.

I used to work at a Psych Hospital (locked facility) and when a LEO wanted to come in to speak to a patient, no guns allowed past the receptionist lobby.
I just don't recall what they did with it.

Locked psychiatric units and custody facilities usually have lockboxes for firearms at the entrance. Before entering the unit or facility secured areas, LEO secure their firearms in these boxes.
